Now that the illegal federal government takeover of healthcare has been consummated, there is a petition circulating via e-mail and
a movement afoot to nullify it through asserting the protection offered by our State governments. Generally, that is a good idea as
the State must act as a check to an over reaching federal government in order for our system to function properly and for individual
liberty to be maintained. However the petition deceptively includes the following clause at the end:
Therefore, We (the undersigned)
demand that you (our state legislators) take these actions immediately:
* protect us from over reaching and unconstitutional Federal
legislation and that you vote for State Nullification of the National Health Care Law.
* protect us from over reaching and unconstitutional
Federal legislation and that you support an Article 5 Convention.
State Nullification is great, we need more local control. However,
an Article V Convention would put us in a position where the whole Constitution could be changed by the very federal scoundrels that
have given us so much grief in the first place. This is a very dangerous and deceptive non-solution and people need to be made aware
of it.
If you are against the unconstitutional health care takeover and the whole 2000 page mess that probably no one person
even totally understands, by all means fight it tooth and nail through the power of our States, through the power of law suits and
supporting all the Attorney Generals that are going to fight it and through our ability to get new people in office that understand
the limitations of federal office but do not under any circumstance support a call for an Article V Convention, a method of amending
the US Constitution that has never yet been used.
As it is, our great Constitution is being over run by ignorance, deceit and
neglect but if 34 States apply for a Convention or have outstanding applications for a convention at any one given time regardless
of why they are calling for it, the Congress is required to convene for the purpose of amending the Constitution and there are no
legal limits as to nature of the changes that can be made. We have enough problems as it is, we don’t need these clowns in Washington
changing now the language of the Constitution itself so they can retroactively codify the massive super-state they have erected over
the last century.
